Unforgettable.

Unforgettable...and I don't mean that in the good way that most people would say it...today was a pretty okay kind of day...we went shopping this morning (Me, Mazzy, and Carver), to get a few groceries and to buy Carver's best friend Xander a birthday present. Lunch and nap was pretty uneventful. Then we packed up the "diaper bag" and headed off to a 3 year old birthday party...I might add here that we had to pull Mike off the roof of our house to attend (he was ripping shingles off our upstairs bathroom roof and reapplying Ice and Water Shield) he wasn't finished applying the Ice and Water Shield when we left...
So off to the birthday party we went, Carver was shy as usual, but warmed up after a bit. Mazzy and Parker were so cute together (for those of you that don't know Maz and Parker are 4 days apart in age and go to the same daycare) Carver played and had fun with minimal whining (it's a bit tough with a bunch of three year old boys that always want the same toys...boys, boys.) He even ate some dinner (I've got a picky eater so "Thanks" for the PB and J Sara:) He was doing okay until the present opening...I should mention we have been over and over what to do at someone elses birthday party..Carver even picked out Xander's present ALL by himself...he knows that the present are not for him, but he really wanted to help Xander with opening his presents and Xander, being the sweet boy he his, agreed...then Carver was getting grabby and wanted to open the whole present and wanted to take it away from after he opened it, oh it was going south and I could see what was going to happen...Ohh yuck, I had to pick him up and move him because he wouldn't listen to me and let Xander do it himself...Then IT JUST GOT WORSE!!!!!!! This is the 3rd time I have ever seen Carver have a tantrum of this sort, screaming, hitting and no where near reasonable in any way. We had to leave the party:( We were embarrassed beyond belief and for the first time, we really questioned our parenting ability. I should have never let him "help" even a little bit, I have seen kids do this before at parties and never thought it was a good idea. It takes away from the "Birthday Kid".
Maybe we aren't strict enough, maybe we don't have enough rules, maybe we don't use time out enough or that counting thing, maybe our kid will never learn to listen to us, or maybe, just maybe - he is just a three year old that loves birthdays, parties, and his friends and his parents..maybe he had too much sugar, not enough of a nap, maybe I, yup ME the adult, should have stuck to the rules (watch & don't help the birthday boy!!) and my kid wouldn't have ended up in a meltdown...this parenting thing is way hard sometimes...

Camping in the backyard.

Okay, so these pictures are not in the right order...the one on the bottom is early evening sitting by the campfire in our backyard, then there is Carver pushing his sister on the "little" swing...yup she thinks were crazy for letting Carver push her, then we have Carver in the tent "camping out". Daddy had promised Carver that they would have there own camp-out in the backyard (being September in New England it is almost getting too cold to camp out...for a 3 year old!!) It got pretty cold that night, low 40's maybe even high 30's. I was up around midnight desperately wanting to go out with a flashlight to make sure he was in his sleeping bag ALL the way! (I am usually the one that pulls the sleeping bag up over him when we are camping... i.e. the REALLY cold nights in North Carolina back in April) He did it though! The picture on the top I snapped when Carver was coming into the house the next morning, I really think that picture says it all!!!!

Fair Season in New England

We went to the fair a couple weeks ago...it was full of 1st's for Carver!!He went on a roller coaster by himself (like 6 times!!!) It was awesome to watch him, he is growing up so fast. He also got a "tattoo" of a shark on his arm. (We had tried to let get him painted at fairs in the past and he was always too scared) The paint artist was pretty good and Carver sat so still...such a big boy!

Fun At Our House

*Carver being creative...he loves to build (Mazzy knocked this tower down a short time after this picture was taken)
*Mazzy learned to crawl about a week before she turned 8 months, this means she goes anywhere she can fit her chubby little body (she is pushing 23lbs!!!) And gets in to everything! The last month has been interesting...I have realized how much I should clean my house...Mazzy finds and then puts -EVERYTHING INTO HER MOUTH!!!
*This is a very common site around our house in the last 3 weeks. Mazzy is all about doing - or at least trying to do- everything Carver is doing. He is usually pretty good with his little sis but we have had a few "problems" when he just gets fed up with her meddling little fingers with his "Big Kid" toys!!

YAY !!! Internet service is back at our house!!!

I just want to say that we have Internet service once again. We have had a horrible time with Wild Blue Satellite Internet...I seriously thought that we would never have Internet service again!!!! It has been out for over 3 weeks, I have had to sit in a hotel parking lot just to check my work email ( If I was lucky enough to find a spare minute to log on without the battery on my computer dying...) So much has happened in our little family I don't where to begin!!! First of all I will need every ones EMAIL ADDRESSES please send them to my NEW EMAIL ADDRESS angigrasso@yahoo.com ...I no longer have access to retrieve or receive anything off from my Wild blue address that everyone has...sorry, it is a long and frustrating story...On the kids and all the fun stuff happening in our world...I will try to post a bit this weekend...if I get a free minute or two!!!
