Does that "title" and this picture not say it all? We have officially been without power for
We were lucky enough to have finally purchased a generator last January (when Mazzelyn was one week old) during an ice storm that caused multiple power outages. We haven't used it very much since then but it has now been running since Thursday around midnight. We can actually run most of the house since it is "wired" into the house. It is powerful enough to run the furnace -since Miss Mazzelyn is a bit too dangerous (I mean curious, fearless, and otherwise intrigued ) for us to run the wood stove.
Last night we had some friends visiting as they their dad tried to get a borrowed generator to run their heat source and refrigerator...Mazzy was already in bed by the time this picture was taken but the little guy in the picture is one of Mazzy's best buddies Parker (born 4 days after her!) and Parker's big brother Xander is one of Carver's best buddies (only 5 weeks difference in age from Carver!) Their parents just bought a house up the road from us (like a week ago!)and they have had a rough go of it ...to put it lightly. By the time they were able to get their generator going it was after 9:30 pm and we decided to put the boys to bed...Carver was very happy that Xander got to have his 1st sleep over!! (hopefully many more to come!!)
And these days it doesn't take long for Miss Mazzy to get bored riding "in" the sled and decide it would be more fun to "pull" the sled...
however if mommy was to "run" with Miss Mazzy in the sled...that might be okay...and Carver thinks it's fun too...
And a nice "end" to the day...Daddy, Mazzy, and Carver sledding down the deserted dead end road...
It looks like you live in a pretty isolated place. I really need to get us a generator, we'd be screwed without power to run Jax stuff!
ReplyDeleteYep, it was a long weekend - we're grateful for such good friends down the road who were so generous with their nice warm home!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Angi! I agree that a generator is a good idea. We have a pellet stove for our secondary heat source but if the power was out for a long period of time we'd be out of luck. Smart thinking to have one and it looks like it's come in handy.
ReplyDelete@ Lacey...you guys should definitely have a generator for Jax's "stuff"....it took us years to finally get one, we just never bothered before we had kids!
ReplyDelete@ Sara...we are just happy you guys live so close now!!!
@ Joy...if you get a generator make sure it's big enough to "run" your pellet stove...my clients are able to run their pellet stove with their generator but only if the generator is on FULL power!!!
I love the fun you had in the snow. Kristen loves the barking puppy card. She shows it to everyone that comes in. Thank You!
